INSPIRATION: GEORGINA SANTIAGO

I think the reason I love 'MINUTIAE' by Georgina Santiago so much is that the photographer focuses on all the little details that might make people insecure, that are normally seen as 'ugly', and she makes them beautiful. Age, wrinkles, veins, messy hair, it seems really raw, despite the obvious photo editing and studio lighting which brings out a distinctive set of pale blues, pinks and greys. The textures are really interesting, using materials materials like neoprene and nylon to replicate human skin. I just wish her photos didn't litter every teen girl's 'pale goth grunge punk' page on Tumblr.
